These businesses, from villages to large cities, have limited access to investors and commercial lenders. In addition, these young businesses are still proving their models and require support to fully develop their operations and strategy. Fluent Africa has been called by a development finance institution to help bridge this gap.

To improve the investment readiness of these businesses, we:
  • Long-listed high-potential early-stage businesses across major hubs.
  • Assessed each company on its current operations, potential, and need.
  • Offered business support tailored to the best candidates as selected by the investor partners.
  • Fundraised growth capital for the businesses and supported the due diligence process.

Outcome

Business diagnostics and support helped 300 small businesses to increase profitability by 50% from higher sales and more efficient operations. Exposure through in-depth profiling and presentation to the investing community helped businesses raise a cumulative $1.5M over 10 months.
